Vessels for Reflection
At an atomic scale the objects repel, intermingle, reject, adhere and become something more - something different than the sum. When objects unite via time and pressure, the coalescence has a tendency to leave behind marks as illustrated by chemical reactions and scars, morphing the subject to become greater than its original state.
My intent is to understand and recontextualize these interactions as metaphors for the changes in our lives. The addition and subtraction of elements redefine a subject that is perpetually in a state of evolution. These pieces serve as vessels for reflection, coping, and understanding of the changes in life.
